Women in STEM
Our Goal
Although the gender gap in STEM fields has been slowly closing, women in STEM still face challenges and girls who are interested in STEM careers still need encouragement because of things like:

-
Stereotypes
-
Impostor Syndrome/Math anxiety and low self esteem
-
Portrayals in Media
-
Lack of female leadership

This is why we have created WSTEM, to:
-
Give girls and nonbinary people resources to learn and experiment in a 0 stress environment
-
Provide them with a community of like minded peers and an opportunity to make new connections
-
Bring them closer to female stem professionals
-
Offer free tutoring for some stem classes
-
Boost their confidence

I want women to be comfortable with being imperfect. I immediately see how girls are afraid to try things that they won't be good in. And women stay with the things they're good at even if that's not what they're put on this earth to do.
